On 8th October, The Pink Link Ltd family and friends gathered at the Cedar Court Hotel in Huddersfield for ‘The Pink Tie and Tiara, Midday to Midnight Extravaganza Ball’ to raise money for seven carefully chosen charities: Yorkshire Cancer Research, The Laura Crane Teenage Cancer Trust, Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice, Yorkshire Air Ambulance, Kirkwood Hospice, HRI Breast Clinic and Everyman.
270 guests were treated to a full day of pampering, gourmet meals, fashion shows and live entertainment, all in the name of charity. The event started at midday and continued until midnight. The theme of the event was… you’ve guessed it… PINK! So everybody sported glamorous pink outfits, sipped pink champagne and danced the night away in a wonderfully decorated pink suite!
At 6pm everyone sat down for a traditional cream tea, before the grand auction took place. There were many prizes to be won including a luxurious 5 star ski holiday, Villas in Turkey, Spain, France and Portugal. Other wonderful prizes included tickets to see Peter Kay and George Michael, a selection of sporting event tickets, and a ‘Girls Only’ prize which included a personal shopping experience at Debenhams and bed, breakfast and evening meal at Mal Maison in Leeds.
Vicki Davenport, Sales & Commercial Director of The Pink Link said “we couldn’t have wished for a more successful event. Everyone seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves and most of all we raised a very impressive amount for extremely worthy causes.”
All in all, it was a fantastic, well supported occasion, which raised £26,650 for our seven charities, bringing the total amount raised over the last 10 years to £122,795.00!
