The Pink Link Ltd is delighted to have been the title sponsor for the ‘Pedal for Pounds 2’ charity bike ride which saw 168 cyclists head off on a gruelling 4 day ride from Huddersfield to Brighton at the end of April.
The riders, including Huddersfield Town Chairman, Dean Hoyle and club legend, Andy Booth, cycled over 260 miles from the Galpharm to the Withdean Stadium in Brighton, ahead of Town’s clash with the Southern Club.
Raising money for the ‘Keep it Up’ campaign, this was the second time that several team members have cycled to an away game after completing the challenge in
2009. The ‘Keep it Up’ campaign is an innovative partnership between Huddersfield Town and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance to raise money for the charity and the Club’s Youth Academy.
The Pink Link Ltd is very proactive in supporting both local and national charities and the company wanted to sponsor the bike ride as it is a fantastic cause and it is important to give something back to the community in Huddersfield and the wider Yorkshire area.
After the first bike ride from Huddersfield to Southend United in August 2009 raised over £51,000 for the campaign, The Pink Link Ltd is delighted to announce that Dean, along with 167 other bike riders have so far raised over £250,000 so far from this second event and the total keeps on rising!
Richard Allen, The Pink Link Ltd’s Managing Director, added: “We were delighted to be the title sponsor for this year’s bike ride in aid of the Keep it Up campaign. It’s fantastic to help local charities and initiatives and it’s great to see fans, club members and people in the community joining together to raise money for a great cause.”
