Pinky Lynx races in the Mascot Gold Cup 2014
>
On Sunday 13th April The Pink Link operations team Phil and Kieran ventured with Pinky Lynx to Wetherby Race Course to compete in the Mascot Gold Cup 2014.
Around 76 Mascots turned out for the event which was organised by the charity Sue Ryder Care. Pinky participated in the mascot parade inside the paddock enclosure to cheers from impressed onlookers and then got into his stride after an energetic aerobic warm up.
Alongside the other mascots Pinky was escorted to the trackside for the Grand finale! Pinky made a promising start amongst the other competing mascots but faced some stiff competition from a Panto Donkey, an oversized Jacket Potato, and a variety of Bears. Unfortunately Pinky was pipped to the finish line by 64 other mascots. The eventual winner was ‘Hero Bear’ from Help the Heroes.
Pinky was gracious in defeat and achieved his target to raise over £257.50 for Sue Ryder Care. He is now recovering in his cat bed at Pink Link HQ ready for his next big outing!
