The Pink Link Ltd expands services with access to new 10m central hub in Germany

New development will increase the frequency of services between UK and Germany

Huddersfield based logistics company The Pink Link Ltd has expanded its services across Europe with access to a new super hub in Knüllwald, in central Germany.

As a member of Palletways, Europe’s largest and fastest growing express palletised freight network, The Pink Link Ltd and its customers will benefit from a new £10 million hub facility that has been established in central Germany.

The investment is in response to the increasing volumes currently handled by 56 German members in the Palletways network. The new 50,000 m² site includes a 7,300m² transhipment hall, parking and infrastructure, which will upgrade services from the existing hub in Homberg and triple the delivery capacity across the region, and increase productivity by 10% across Europe. Palletways has also reserved space at the site for another, almost equally large, area to accommodate future growth and create storage capacity for fulfilment services.

The new hub provides improved international services and the core Palletways service centre drop off and collection services for delivery of goods across Europe, backed by state of the art operational processes, modern barcode scanning system and mechanical handling equipment.

Germany is one of the 20 countries that The Pink Link Ltd now delivers to across Europe. Said Paul Ince, Sales and Commercial Director: “We can collect all small goods on one vehicle and deliver to multiple locations across Europe. The new hub facility in Knüllwald will enable us to offer a more frequent service to Germany opening up new market opportunities for our business and customers.”

This strategic investment will help Palletways and The Pink Link Ltd maintain the position of the number one pallet network in the UK and Europe.

Dave Walmsley, Managing Director of Palletways UK, said: “The new hub offers an outstanding improvement to our European connections for our UK customers. In-bound and outbound volumes between the UK and Germany will move across the network faster and more efficiently than before, which presents the opportunity for us to improve our customer service even further.”

The new hub is fully supported by Palletways award winning IT platform and customer service operation, enabling real time visibility of all consignments throughout their journey.

The Pink Link Ltd, is one of circa 400 hundred members of Palletways’ European distribution network, all independent transport operators which share their resources to deliver small consignments of palletised freight to market more quickly and cost effectively than before.
