Towns Tandemettes Pedal To Success!

>

On Saturday 5th May, Vicki Davenport, Sales and Commercial Director at The Pink Link Ltd, completed the 260 mile bike ride with Town’s Tandemettes as part of Huddersfield Town’s Pedal For Pounds 3 bike ride.

The cyclists began the gruelling cycle on Wednesday 2nd May outside Yeovil Town’s Huish Park ground, cycling towards the Galpharm Stadium for Huddersfield Town’s last home game of the season.

Vicki said: “The reception down to the Galpharm was absolutely fantastic and the lap of honour was brilliant in the only sunshine we had seen for the last 4 days!

“I certainly never imagined that the challenge would be so hard – and made so much harder by the horrendous weather conditions. Fortunately the Tandemettes all arrived safely and in one piece.

“The amount of energy we have put into this has been unbelievable – not just in the time we have had to train (over 1,000 miles prior to the ride), but the emotional journey and sacrifices we have all made to achieve this challenge.

“I am elated to have finished it and so proud – not once did Sandra and I get off our Tandem and push – even up the steepest hills!!”

The Town’s Tandemettes have already raised over £20,000 (including Gift Aid) for the ‘Keep It Up’ campaign, a phenomenal amount which is still being added to, and the team will continue to appreciate any support. To donate, visit: www.justgiving.com/townstandemettes

The ‘Keep It Up’ campaign is an innovative partnership between Huddersfield Town and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance which raises money for the charity and the Club’s Youth Academy. Over the past three years Pedal For Pounds has raised over £500,000 for the campaign, an incredible achievement which will continue to be added to in years to come.
